is practicing

design.

My design practice usually involves the production of artifacts in material and visual form, but I understand design as a process of human interaction — a series of social and conceptual iterations that uncover and articulate collective intent, and then work to give form to that intent through media and matter.

I have led or engaged in design process with individuals, groups, and organizations for the purpose of creating brands, images, objects, structures, products, and digital experiences, but my most significant learnings have come through working with nature and natural systems. I am equally comfortable working with individuals, groups and teams, and I also value time in studio isolation.

I believe that chaos is as important to the design process as order.
